An observation event of the fireflies inhabiting in IGIDAE Park, the barometer of clean environment will be held, along with the love for environment writing and drawing competition, so that teenagers can use it as a learning filed of ecological experience, and that adults can remember their memories, which will help them realize the importance of natural environment.

- Observation place : observation after moving to the vicinity of the park ranger station
- Participants : around 700 including students and the ward inhabitant

- Contents : fireflies observation, love for environment writing and drawing competition
- Ceremonies before the main event : 16:00 ~ 17:00 - To display and observe fireflies, An exhibition of prizewinning works from the last year
- Opening ceremony : 17:00 ~ 17:10 - A national ceremony
- 'Love for environment' writing and drawing competition : 17:10 ~ 19:40 - Infants section, elementary school students sectionⅠ(1 to 3 grades), elementary school students section Ⅱ(4 to 6 grades), middle (high) school students section

- Application method : to submit the application form (under the name of the head of a school or an organization), registration on the spot
- Registration of entries : 2009. 6. 1 ～ 6. 5
- Screening and awarding
- About 6 jurors are chosen and screen : 3 for the writing competition and other 3 for the drawing competition
- Awarding (4 sections × 2 competitions) : Infants section, elementary school students sectionⅠ, elementary students section Ⅱ, middle (high) school students section
- The first prize : 8 winners 〔Infants section․elementary school students ward head diploma, middle(high) school section the superintendent of Nambu office of education diploma〕
- Excellence prize :16 winners (Supplementary prize: a book coupon)〔awarded by the head of the Council for the Promotion of Green City, Busan 21〕

- Explanation on the mode of life of fireflies and observation

- Fireflies observation
- Observation course : observation after moving to the vicinity of the park ranger office
- About 30 participants consist of one team, and move to the observation place
- Posting of guidance assistant in each team : Researchers from the basic science laboratory of Kyungsung University(2 researchers)
- Kyungsung University : posting of guidance assistant in each team, direct explanation of the fireflies' mode of life, helping participants' understanding
- Department of environmental hygiene : posting staff around the observation course, maintaining order during nighttime transfer, discouraging people from collecting fireflies
- Putting out lights around the observation place
- To take measures of turning off the street lamps near the observation place so that participants can observe fireflies' light at night
