In order to provide opportunities for the youth to use their talents and gifts and learn healthy hobbies and diverse cultures so that they can grow up sound and healthy social beings, over six youth festivals including the Youth Climb Experience with Parents, Youth Marine Experience Activities and Youth Dance Festival are held in Igidae Park, UN Cemetery square and Busan Suyeongman Yacht Marina. In 2002, 100 million won was subsidized by the Gu and City offices so that the Youth Festival was operated for the disabled, by visiting special schools such as Hyeseong and Hyenam. Furthermore, various and instructive events such as a visit to seven culturally noted places in Nam-gu district with family were promoted, and accordingly, about 3,000 inhabitants and teenagers participated. Likewise, Youth Festival has good response not only from teenagers but also general inhabitants. In 2003, a total of 27 Youth Hip-hop Dance Permanent Cultural Festival (9 in the first half; 18 in the second half) were held on Saturdays in UN Sculpture Park Square. Here, special performances such as musical, tap dance, chirology, rock music, Taekwondo exhibition match were shown, and hip-hop dance teams in Busan city presented their performances, all of which were loved by residents as well as students. Youth Marine Experience Class, where about 80 middle and high school students participated, made the youth feel proud of Busan, the marine city. Through this event, students could feel Busan more directly. In addition, the first Oryukdo Youth Hip-hop Contest sponsored by Nam-gu Office, was held, providing the space for teenager dance teams in Busan to radiate their talents. Furthermore, Youth Festival for the students of special schools such as Hyeseong and Hyenam was held, so that all teenagers could meet edifying and diverse cultures.
