

To promote the world’s unique UNMCK, where the fallen of the UN
forces in the Korean War are interred, as a sacred and symbol site of peace and freedom.
Basic plan included an exhibition of 29 sculpture pieces created and donated by sculptors, who originated from the 21 nations that
participated in the Korean War under the UN banner, while attending the International Sculpture Symposium at UNMCK to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Korean War.

509 millions and District Budget of 100 million)

- Manpower : Public Labor Project (8,086 labor hours per year)


- Mar 6, 2000 : Secured the land for UN Sculpture Park -> Approval by
UNMCK
- September 15~30, 2000 : Held International Sculpture Symposium to
commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Korean War at UNMCK
- October 24, 2000 : Completed the International Sculpture Symposium
(29 pieces of work on temporary exhibit)
- March 16 ~ May 23, 2001 : Contracted blueprint work for the UN
Sculpture Park
- April 9, 2001 ~ Present : Upgraded and maintained the UN Sculpture Park through public labor project
- October 24, 2001 : Held a completion ceremony of the UN Sculpture
Park

visitors to UNMCK
- Promoting UNMCK, a sacred symbolic site of peace and freedom, as an international site for a visit symbol of peace, freedom
- Creating a culture zone connecting the Culture Center, the Busan
Museum, UNMCK, and UN Sculpture Park
